The parties intend to enter into a legally binding agreement with respect to the existence of a contract. The law generally assumes that the parties intend, in commercial contracts, to be legally bound, unless expressly stated otherwise. On the other hand, in the case of contracts between family members, the law generally requires written evidence in order to prove one`s intention to create legal relationships. Contract law regulates all sorts of day-to-day transactions, from buying a pint of beer to concluding multi-million pound financial transactions. Nevertheless, contract law is not at all a legal area of law and, even if there are written contracts, the parties often find it difficult to enforce them, resulting in an infringement.
